The Strangest Town in Alaska
Dipnetters - 2000

Fishing in Turnagain Arm, near the former townsite of Portage, Alaska. These dipnetters are fishing for Hooligan (also known as Eulachon), a small oily fish that has long been a staple for Denaina natives of this (Turnagain Arm) region. Portage Valley is just beyond the trees on the left.
