Small Boat Harbor - 2000

Whittier's crowded and popular small boat harbor. While the slips are not terribly expensive, they are in high demand. A 12-year wait is now the average for a new slip to come available. The main reason for the popularity - Anchorage. Whittier is the closest deep-water harbor to Anchorage and its population of 280,000 people.
